About us

New name. Same saloon.

Switchback Saloon Bar

We’re reopening as Switchback Saloon, but the intention is not to erase what Landmark meant. This should still feel like the casual, friendly third place where regulars, neighbors, and touring bands overlap, while we build a structure where the people who make it work can ultimately own it.

Phase 1: Stabilize

Reopen as Switchback, keep the best of Landmark intact, get the calendar humming, and run a clean, sustainable operation.

Phase 2: Share power

Increase worker decision-making, publish clearer finances, and create community participation options.

Phase 3: Co-op transition

Over ~3–5 years, transition toward a worker / consumer co-op model with defined membership and governance.

What “worker / consumer co-op” means (in plain language)

We’re aiming for a structure where:

  • Workers have real say in operations and share in long-term upside.
  • Community members can join (membership) and have a voice in big-picture decisions.
  • The bar remains healthy — paying bills, paying fairly, maintaining the space, and supporting music.
